WP CSV Importer Feature Overview

Post Template

Specify the title, post body, and post excerpt. Use {CSVFIELDNAME} in the textboxes and it will automatically be replaced with the value of that field in your CSV file. You can save these templates and load them later, so if you are importing 15 CSV files with the same template, you do not have to recreate it each time.

Specify Post Category

Specify the category of your imported posts. Alternatively, you can set the category to the value of a field in your CSV file - categories will be automatically created if they do not already exist).

Flexible Post Dates

You can set all posts to have a single date, or you can set the posts to be added on a range of dates, or you can use a date field in the CSV file.

You can also schedule posts to appear in the future with this feature. Choose the "Random Dates" option and enter in "now" and "+6 months" in the boxes. Your posts will then be scheduled to appear over the next 6 months.

Set Custom Fields

You can create custom fields and set tie their value to a column in your CSV file.

Post Slug

You can set the post slug to a column in the CSV file.

Update Existing Jobs

You can upload new versions of existing CSV files and instead of creating new posts, WP CSV Importer will update your existing posts with the new data. For example, if you imported a datafeed from an affiliate network, you could import an updated version of the feed months later. Your posts would keep all of their comments, etc. - except any data updated in the feed would be updated in the post.
